Bangkok, officially Krung Thep Maha Nakhorm (or just Krung Thep), is a hot, bustling city of traffic jams, air pollution, traditional dancers, cobra farms, and some of the friendliest people you will meet anywhere. Thailand's capital lies in the Chao Phraya River delta in central Thailand. The river empties into the Gulf of Thailand about 25 km to the south.
