Banded Mongoose (Mungas mungo)
These animals live in colonies in termite mounds.
Yellow Mongoose (Cynictis penicillata)
We found these mongooses at the edge of the salt pans in the Kalahari Desert.
Cape ground squirrel (Xerus inauris)
Also found at the edge of the salt pans.
Cape hare (Lepus capensis)
We saw many Cape hares at night at Jack's Camp in the Kalahari Desert..
Spring hare (Pedetes capensis)
We only saw spring hares at night in the Kalahari.
Otter (Lutra lutra)
We saw two shy otters on the Chobe river.
