The osprey allowed a close approach just outside of Moremi.
Grey kestrel (Falco ardosiaceus)
This small raptor looked like just another small gray bird until we saw the hooked beak.
Bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus)
Bateleur is French for acrobat. We tried to photograph them as they flew overhead but were not successful. We finally got a picture of one when it settled in for the night. They have very short tails.
Steppe eagle (Aquila nipalensis)
Taking off from a dead palm tree in the Kalahari.
African Goshawk (Accipter tachiro)
This bird and its mate perched on the edge of a salt pan in the Kalahari.
