Sulawesi (Celebes) is one of Indonesia's four Greater Sunda Islands and is the world's 11th-largest island. It is located east of Borneo, west of the Maluku Islands, and south of Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago. The central part of the island is ruggedly mountainous.
North Sulawesi Provice of Indonesia is located on the Minahasa Peninsula of Sulawesi, the island's northeast tip. Its capital city is Manado.
