Walrus Island Landscapes

Round Island is reached by air taxi from Dillingham, Alaska, to Nunavachak Lake, and then two hours west by boat.

Visitors land at Boat Cove and scramble up the cliff with their gear. Low tundra vegetation covers the lower elevations of the island above the cliffs.

Tundra flowers all bloom at once during the short summer season.
