Wiseman

Wiseman is a small mining community established in 1907 on the Middle Fork Koyukuk River, some sixty miles north of the Arctic Circle and about three miles from the Dalton Highway. Gold was discovered in nearby Nolan Creek. Today's residents subsist by hunting, trapping, and gardening.
