Seeing the area:

Dumaguete is the largest city in Negros Oriental and hosts the airport. Atmosphere is in the nearby town of Dauin.

Negros Oriental is the southeastern half of volcanic Negros Island. A chain of mountains running north-south separates it from Negros Occidental to the west. At the southern end, southwest of Valencia, is Mount Talinis, also called Cuernos de Negros ("Horns of Negros"), a complex dormant volcano. At the northern end of the province is the highest peak, Kanlaon Volcano, which is an active volcano.

Valencia Hot Springs and the Pulong Bato waterfalls are near the small mountain town of Valencia about ten kilometers west of Dumaguete.

Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park on the eastern slope of the Mount Talinis range surrounds two deep crater lakes, Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao, separated by a narrow mountain ridge.
