Cuttlefish have a unique internal shell, the cuttlebone. Their eyes have large W-shaped pupils. They have eight arms and two tentacles. Cuttlefish are among the most intelligent invertebrates, with one of the largest brain-to-body size ratios of all invertebrates. Cuttlefish can change color. The broadclub cuttlefish is the only large cuttlefish in most of the tropical Indo-Pacific.

An octopus is a soft-bodied eight-limbed mollusc with two eyes and a beaked mouth at the central point of the eight limbs. They have complex nervous systems and excellent eyesight. The bay octopus is the common large day-active octopus in the Indo-Pacific.
