Bicolor angelfish, Centropyge bicolorWe took an underwater photography trip to the Philippines in December 2016. We returned in November 2024.
Angelfish are found on shallow reefs in the tropical Atlantic, Indian, and western Pacific Oceans. They have laterally-compressed bodies and resemble butterflyfish. Angelfish have a strong preopercle spine on the gill cover which butterflyfish lack.
