Private morning photo tour with Martin Kohn of Skippers Canyon, a historic and scenic gorge 22km north of Queenstown.
The gorge was carved by the Shotover River, one of New Zealand's richest gold-bearing rivers. Remnants of the mining operations are all around.
Rafting is popular.
After lunch we photographed the rock formations in the high desert overlooking the Nevis River Valley.
