Four thousand years ago, Abraham dug wells ("be'er", in Hebrew) here. Tel Be'er Sheva was created by nine successive settlements, forming a mound 20m high. Tel Be'er Sheva National Park is 5 km east of the modern city of Be'er Sheva, near the town of Tel Sheva.
