Jokulsarlon is right on the Ring Road between Hofn and Skaftakell. The Icebergs calve from Breithamerkurjokull Glacier, an offshoot of Vatnajokull.
At the mouth of the Jokulsa River, Iceland's shortest, icebergs from Jokulsarlon wash up on the black sand Fellsfjara Beach, called "Diamond Beach".
