The mortuary temple of Ramsses II is part of a large complex which included a royal palace, granaries, and storerooms. Its pylons are decorated with scenes from the Battle of Qadesh. Ramsses II ruled Egypt for 67 years in the 19th Dynasty. The fallen statue of Ramsses inspired Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem "Ozymandias".
