Edfu Photo Gallery

Edfu is halfway between Luxor and Aswan. Its temple of Horus is the largest and best-preserved Ptolemaic temple in Egypt. It was built by the Greeks in the early Egyptian style and completed in 51 B.C.E. The pylon shows scenes of pharaoh Ptolemy XII defeating his enemies.
