We have traveled to Bermuda several times to operate ham radio contests as VP9I. Sometimes we've also had time to do a little touring around. That's tougher than usual in Bermuda because tourists are not allowed to drive cars. Bermuda lies in the North Atlantic Ocean; the closest land is North Carolina, about 643 miles (1035 km) to the west-northwest. Bermuda consists of 181 islands. Most of the siginificant islands are connected by bridges. The land area is 21 square miles (54 square kilometers).
