St. Martin / Sint Maarten Wrecks

The shipwrecks off the south side of Sint Maarten provide a solid substrate and so were not as much damaged by the recent hurricane as the reefs and sponge gardens were. Many of these wrecks were sunk as diving attractions and fish habitats.

The original Simpson Bay bridge was replaced by a small drawbridge on the road to the airport. The girders of the original bridge provide a colorful fish habitat.
