Florida Photo Gallery: Big Cypress National Preserve

North and west of Everglades National Park, Big Cypress is mainly cypress sloughs. During the winter, the foliage is down on the cypress trees, allowing a lot of light to reach the surface of the water. The bromeliads were just coming into bloom.

There are plenty of gators.

Bird life is abundant:
